AN INVITATION TO PRAYER
Habemus Papam! We have a pope!
The sight of the white smoke coming out of the chimney of the Sistine Chapel stopped everything. Parish staff, clergy and volunteers stopped to watch the historic moment unfold. Finally, the announcement came: our new pope is Leo XIV!
Please join us in praying for the first American pope at a Mass with Fr. Frank Pusateri for Pope Leo XIV, tomorrow, Friday, May 9, at 12:00 PM here at Our Lady of Mercy.
Additionally, Bishop Hicks will celebrate a Mass for Pope Leo XIV at 8:00 AM at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus in Joliet. All are welcome to attend, and this Mass will also be livestreamed.
